PROJECT FEATURES

The rehabilitation of the Highway Reward mine-site required a diverse range of activities to be completed. The acceptance of works required all contaminated material from the ROM pad and Tailings dam be placed into the open cut. 85 hectares of waste dumps were regraded, topsoiled and revegetated. As part of the regrading, drainage works were re-profiled and extensive rock gabion and mattress structures were constructed. Site works also included removal of maintenance and office facilities, construction of safety bunds, deep ripping and rehabilitation of first flush ponds.
