Client:
Red Mountain Joint Venture
Scope:
Tailings mud removal.
Location:
Millennium Mine, QLD
Project Features:
MCG completed the removal of tailings mud generated by the operations of the Millennium wash plant. MCG has since taken on the management of all aspects of the tailings mud removal and pond management. The operation requires interfaces between two important areas on site as the mud must be removed from the wash plant operational area into Roche’s mining area. Separate inductions and a wide range of safety procedures and training have been adopted to ensure this is a seamless transition. Up to 200t per hour of tailings mud is generated which is deposited into a series of tailings removal ponds. These ponds are serviced by 2 longreach excavators and a fleet of 6 wheel drive articulated trucks removing the mud to the spoil dump area.
