Topsoil and overburden pre-strip

PROJECT FEATURES:

MCG completed the prestripping of 480,000bcm/month of topsoil and overburden at Isaac Plains mine. MCG has performed these works on this project since July 2008 and operations are continuing with MCG currently negotiating a possible increased commitment. The contact requires a 24hr 7 day a week commitment with MCG ramping up from the initial single crew to include a second fleet to meet increased production requirements. A dozer push crew and haul road maintenance team have been added recently to top up production and is operating on a 24/7 basis. A contract has also been awarded to MCG requiring the load, haul and dump of approximately 30,000-40,000 tonnes of wet rejects per week.
